What many US citizens seem to have forgotten over the past decade or so, is that it's possible to have the government spend money on welfare and still run a surplus. It's shocking, I know, but it appears to be the case that if you don't spend billions on wars and tax cuts, it's possible to run a balanced budget and create growth and prosperity for everyone.
It's only when you start using supply-side voodoo economics to justify tax cuts "that pay for themselves", that you end up with massive deficits.
So please people, if you're going to vote in november, don't vote for the guy who's proposing 5 trillion dollars in tax cuts with no specific plan to pay for all that. Obama has his flaws but at least he knows basic math.

I wouldn't necessarily use this guy to justify Obama. While Clinton is a sleaze-bag he was good at economics. It's mostly because he sued what is called the Third position which is in contrast to both capitalism and communism. It combines elements from both left and right and that's why it was so successful. Obama however does not have the skill of this man so just don't assume another Democrat will fix it all. Pay more attention to what economics they use.Of course they're are other details like defense and relations but that's a whole another topic :\ . ~ C
